Kforce is working with a long-standing, privately held industrial organization with roots dating back to the late 1800s that is seeking a Software Engineer to join its technology team. This is a hybrid role in Pittsburgh, PA. Only local candidates will be considered. Scope & Responsibilities of Software Engineer:
  • Investigate problem areas, evaluate operational feasibility, and propose effective technical solutions
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing business needs, collaborating with users, and reviewing systems flow, data usage, and work processes
  • Design, prepare, and implement solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming requirements
  • Improve operational efficiency through systems analysis and by recommending enhancements to policies and procedures
  • Provide data and insights to support business decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing service issues
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant professional experience and or training required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to develop software using C#, JavaScript, PHP, or other programming languages
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience developing web applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework, PHP, or similar frameworks
  • Experience with modern front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with data import, export, and manipulation, including CSV, XML, and JSON formats
  • Experience debugging applications
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience with software test plans and source code management tools such as Git
  • Completion of any required company or job-related training programs

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
