Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in C++.
2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications:
Master"s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience with ChromeOS, Android, or ARCVM development environments.

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.Google Beam is a true-to-life new communication technology from Google that allows people to feel like they're having real face-to-face conversations, no matter the distance. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today's leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you"ll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can't.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
Build the experience that powers the core meeting experience.
Orchestrate the communication between user-facing applications and native client services (written in C++ and Go), ensuring low latency and high reliability.
Work across ChromeOS, Android, and android runtime for chrome virtual machine (ARCVM) ecosystems to bring experiences to life.
Collaborate with the Google Meet team and third-party meeting vendors to integrate Beam features into the broader ecosystem, ensuring Google-class scalability.
