The Commerce Content Safety team ensures a safe and trustworthy Google Commerce experience. We're on the front lines, protecting users and merchants by maintaining content integrity, moderating shopping queries, and overseeing shopping GenAI safety.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and iterate on machine learning models (including LLMs) to detect policy violations in Shopping content for various moderation tasks, including text, image, and potentially video analysis.
  • Develop and deploy scalable pipelines for high-quality training data curation, striving for gold-standard datasets and implementing frameworks for model evaluation and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, data analysts, operations teams, and other engineering teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver impactful results.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams (Search, Gemini, Shopping Infra, Compliance, Merchant Tools, Ads safety) to integrate and support content safety measures.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns of abuse, measure the effectiveness of our systems, and guide future improvements.
