Software Developer, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Design new features and extend OpenTelemetry support with a dynamic architecture. Maintain OpenTelemetry-related code across Instanas agent, backend, and frontend. Debug and resolve customer-reported issues involving OpenTelemetry. Improve the observability platform, Instana, as a member of the Instana OpenTelemetry team. Process millions of spans, traces, metrics, and events per second to deliver actionable insights to customers. Focus on generating, collecting, processing, exporting, visualizing, and analyzing telemetry data using OpenTelemetry. Collaborate on cross-team OpenTelemetry initiatives. Improve documentation for seamless customer adoption. Contribute to the OpenTelemetry open-source community. Enhance developer tools and pipelines. Demonstrate strong coding discipline and problem-solving skills. Utilize: Java, Golang, JavaScript Language, SaaS and Cloud Technologies, CI/CD Implementation, GPU Performance Analysis, OpenTelemetry technologies, Large Language Model (LLM) Integration and Analysis, Application development for Al and LLMs. Required: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Java, Golang, JavaScript Language, SaaS and Cloud Technologies, CI/CD Implementation, GPU Performance Analysis, OpenTelemetry technologies, Large Language Model (LLM) Integration and Analysis, Application development for Al and LLMs.
