Software Developer

Location: Denver, CO (Onsite 4 days/week required)

Overview

We are seeking a Software Developer with strong experience in enterprise application development and modern backend technologies. This role requires onsite presence in Denver, CO at least 4 days per week and involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions in an enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience using Java, Spring Boot, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms, along with exposure to distributed systems and enterprise integration tools.

Primary Skills

• Java 17 development
• Spring Boot framework
• Oracle, MongoDB, and/or DynamoDB
• Kafka (event-driven architecture / messaging systems)
• AWS cloud services
• Datalog (or similar data/query language concepts)
• Splunk or similar SRE/observability tools
• AI-assisted development tools and practices

Responsibilities

• Follow SDLC processes to design, develop, test, debug, and document software applications
• Translate functional requirements into technical design specifications
• Review functional and design documents and provide technical feedback
• Develop high-quality, scalable backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure consistency and quality
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
• Develop and maintain system and operational documentation
• Support deployment, monitoring, and production stability activities
• Work within Agile development environments and team delivery cycles

Required Skills

• 7 10+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot
• Experience with databases (Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Strong understanding of Kafka and event-driven systems
• Experience working with AWS cloud environments
• Experience with observability tools such as Splunk
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Experience working in enterprise SDLC environments

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools
• Experience in large enterprise or distributed system environments
• Exposure to modern microservices architecture
• Experience with performance tuning and scalability improvements
