Software Dev Engineer - Software Dev Engineer II

Location: Seattle, Washington (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract


Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for a content platform team. This role involves acting as the first level of support and development for incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. The solutions developed will have a direct impact on customers. This position is ideal for a candidate interested in a software development career who wants to expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support and development for production software application issues.
  • Develop monitoring solutions for merchandising applications.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and implement fixes for internally developed code.
  • Perform SQL queries to analyze and resolve issues.
  • Improve systems that gather metrics on software features.
  • Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with development teams on corporate and divisional software projects.
  • Enhance current software and automate support processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for systems.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Computer Science degree or an equivalent technical degree is required.

Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. The candidate must be detail-oriented, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have strong organizational skills, be able to work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure.

Technical Skills: Experience with Perl, C/C++, and/or Java.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mason, Perl CGI, or Oracle SQL.
  • Knowledge of HTML and UNIX/LINUX environments.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $49.00 and $59.00 per hour.
