Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineer focused on Android Test Automation to support the quality and stability of an innovative chip-to-cloud platform for next-generation devices. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining automated test solutions that provision, configure, and execute software on prototype Android devices. The successful candidate will help ensure software quality by identifying and preventing defects before release while supporting device validation across multiple software builds.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for Android-based devices.
Design and execute automated testing solutions that provision, configure, and run software on physical and prototype devices.
Support software quality initiatives by identifying, tracking, and preventing defects throughout the development life cycle.
Validate software functionality and stability across multiple devices builds and releases.
Independently drive technical work and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall product quality.
Contribute to the reliability and effectiveness of device testing within internal deployment programs.

Experience Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience.
1+ year of experience in software automated testing, specifically Android test automation involving provisioning, configuring, and running software on physical or prototype devices.
3+ years of experience independently driving technical work and delivering measurable value.

Required Skills

Software engineering expertise.
Android test automation experience.
Experience provisioning, configuring, and executing software on physical or prototype Android devices.
Strong ability to work independently and deliver technical solutions.
Proficiency in Android/Kotlin, C++, or other strongly typed programming languages.
Ability to successfully complete a technical coding assessment.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with prototype devices and device validation workflows.
Knowledge of automated software quality and testing practices.
Experience supporting software quality initiatives across multiple software builds and releases.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $55.00 - $60.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
