Overview
The Social Worker II is a therapist, under the guidance of a supervising licensed clinician, to children who have experienced or may be at risk for trauma through physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, domestic and community violence and negative social conditions. The incumbent utilizes information gained by the interdisciplinary evaluation services and diagnostic interview to develop and implement a treatment plan for the child and their family.
Responsibilities
Provide weekly individual, family or group, psychotherapy services to children and their families. Attend interdisciplinary staffing to discuss and integrate the evaluation information and to develop a comprehensive treatment plan responding to the psychological and social needs of the client/family. Collaborate with the referring agency, to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatments services in the development of the service plans for the child and the family, when indicated. Collaborate with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services if indicated. Participate in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for review of clinical work. Attend in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meeting, and necessary administrative meetings. Maintain client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff. Maintain the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary.
