Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus:

A masters degree in social work.

NOTE:

Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As a Social Worker 1-4, the incumbent will:

  • Evaluates clients and recommends the proper level of behavioral health treatment.
  • Interviews clients to assess needs and problems such as education, employment, physical and mental impairment in order to determine the degree and nature of problems related to behavioral health.
  • Provides advanced clinical services through individual, family, and/or group counseling to a complex caseload of behavioral health clients.
  • Prepares person-centered plans for clients based on recommended levels of care.
  • Provides both written and verbal documentation and consultation to other agencies.
  • Assists the clinic manager in designing and implementing programs that address community needs.

Position-Specific Details:

Location: This position is located at SCLHSAs River Parishes Behavioral Health Center, located in Laplace, LA.

Appointment Type: Probationary Appointment

Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.

Career Progression Group (CPG): This position participates in a CPG and may be filled as a Social Worker 1, 2, 3, or 4 level, at which the vacancy is filled be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
