Description

The strategy team at The Social Lights is a group of relentlessly curious, culture-obsessed storytellers who understand that the most compelling insights can be found in the hidden corners of the Internet.

Social Strategists at TSL are responsible for identifying audience, content, and conversation insights, building platform-specific and holistic social strategies, identifying social channel and behavioral trends, and ultimately creating the strategic foundation for innovative, social-first ideas.

To be successful, this person must be a self-starter, have a curious mind, be skilled in collaborating with creatively minded individuals, and exhibit an understanding of building social strategies that both answer clients' business objectives and inspire inventive thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Social Strategy Responsibilities
  • Leads development of social media strategy deliverables on behalf of clients
  • Proficient social listening skills (via social listening tools and in-platform)
  • Demonstrates aptitude for social-first concepting (social visuals and copy)
  • Ability to analyze data and shape recommendations in partnership with social intelligence team members for internal and client teams
  • Works with cross-discipline partners to lead brainstorms and develop ideas that can be utilized across multiple social media marketing channels
  • Demonstrates a deep knowledge of social content and platform features
  • Keeps tabs on social audiences, social platform trends, and has a POV on how to activate those for clients
  • Maintains strong time management, organization and prioritization skills in order to complete multiple client asks and deliverables in a timely manner; engages Strategy leads for input and feedback when needed
  • Stays up to date with industry trends in both social and digital spheres; shares insights with team members on a regular basis
  • Stays current with client, competitor and industry news, and provides answers to POV requests from Growth, Client Success and Strategy disciplines
Collaboration and Presentation Responsibilities
  • Work alongside cross-discipline TSL teams to develop social-first strategies and ideas
  • Work alongside Strategy team partners to build insights and recommendations, channel and activation strategies
  • Present strategic thinking, ideas, and strategic outputs to clients and internal partners
  • Participates in new business development activities as requested, including research and brainstorming, pitch deck development and presenting to prospective clients

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 3-5+ years experience in a social, marketing, or communications role
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Prior social listening experience and comfort working with social listening tools
  • Prior experience in navigating a social strategy process from insight-finding to content production
  • Brings curiosity and the urge to explore what's next in the industry
  • Well organized, strong time management and prioritization skills
  • A collaborative mindset with attention to detail and follow-through
  • A willingness to jump into new challenges to learn and grow
  • Able to maintain confidentiality with business relations, personnel matters, and proprietary matters
  • Previous experience in gaming or passion for the industry is a plus
