Job Description

The Senior Manager, Social Media is responsible for creating a clear, cohesive and culturally relevant social presence across platforms that builds trust, strengthens brand affinity and supports enterprise priorities.

This new role sets the long term vision for Allstate's social strategy and serves as a strategic leader and subject matter expert. Operating at the intersection of brand, editorial and culture, this leader partners closely with integrated teams to deliver organic social programs that are platform-native, data-informed and award-winning.

Key Responsibilities

Set the Enterprise Social Vision

  • Define and evolve Allstate's enterprise social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, TikTok and YouTube
  • Establish Allstate's distinct, ownable social presence, setting strategic direction, prioritization and workflows for original social‑first content

Lead Social‑First Content and Storytelling

  • Partner with brand, editorial and creative teams to develop platform‑native content frameworks, formats and series that ladder up to Allstate's brand and business goals
  • Translate complex initiatives, campaigns and enterprise priorities into clear social content strategies
  • Ensure content reflects a consistent voice, tone and visual identity while remaining relevant to each platform's culture and audience expectations
  • Direct executive thought leadership and develop employee engagement best practices across priority channels

Champion Culture, Innovation and AI

  • Stay sharp on current platform culture while keeping focus on long‑term strategic leadership
  • Guide experimentation across platforms, formats, creators and emerging technologies, including the responsible use of AI
  • Model a test‑and‑learn approach that balances creativity, speed and collaboration

Lead, Influence and Build Capability

  • Provide strategic leadership, coaching and development for social media team members and agency partners
  • Establish scalable workflows, systems and processes that enable efficient, high‑quality execution
  • Act as a thought leader across the enterprise, advocating for social‑first ideas, influencing senior stakeholders and elevating organic social media's impact on brand and business goals.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Deep expertise in social platforms, content strategy and cultural dynamics
  • Strong editorial point of view paired with business and data sensibilities
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross‑functional partners
  • Curious, adaptable and future‑focused, with a clear perspective on where social is headed
  • Top-notch communication and presentation skills.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in social media and content marketing roles
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams and managing agencies (or clients) in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated experience shaping enterprise or large‑scale organic social strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role has direct supervisory responsibility and accountability for team performance, development, resourcing and agency partnerships.

Technology Requirements

  • Allstate provides a full technology setup including laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard and mouse.

  • Employees working from home receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement.

  • A dedicated, private workspace is required.

  • Reliable internet is required with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is $110,000 -$170,700 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

  • Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
