Essential Functions

Social Media Content Creation & Publishing (40%)

Produce, edit, and publish short-form digital content aligned with organizational priorities and campaign goals.

  • Create and publish 2–4 short-form pieces per week (Reels, TikToks, graphics, carousels, or written posts).

  • Edit and deliver 1–2 short-form videos per week.

  • Draft captions and optimize content for platform-specific formats and best practices.

  • Maintain a consistent publishing cadence aligned with the organization’s content calendar.

  • Provide light website or newsletter content updates as needed.

Platform Management & Community Engagement (25%)

  • Monitor relevant 2 to 3 trends and conversations connected to Embrace Boston’s work.

  • Flag sensitive issues or high-visibility moments to the Director as needed.

Campaign & Event Support (20%)

  • Support up to one active campaign or activation at a time.

  • Collaborate with the Director to gather assets and source stories.

  • Capture and produce real-time content during events when they fall within scheduled hours.

Performance Tracking & Collaboration (10%)

  • Monitor core performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth).

  • Provide a brief weekly performance summary (3–5 key insights).

  • Work within established workflows for content planning, approvals, and publishing.

General Support (5%)

  • Support brand consistency across digital platforms.

  • Assist with organizing digital assets and documentation.

  • Participate in one weekly check-in (30–60 minutes) and one content planning meeting (30 minutes).

  • Additional campaign meetings as needed, not to exceed approximately two total meeting hours per week.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and interest in advocacy for racial and social justice.

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media production or digital content creation.

  • Strong experience editing short-form social video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).

  • Proficiency with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar platforms.

  • Strong skills in caption writing and visual storytelling.

  • Familiarity with social platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics dashboards.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and community partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, project management tools, social media management platforms, email systems, and CMS platforms.

  • Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe) preferred.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable learning new tools quickly.

This is a contracted position with the opportunity to progress into a full-time position.
