The Social Media & Member Relations Manager is responsible for advancing the Valley Wide Cooperative brand through social media, digital content, and creative marketing initiatives, while also supporting member engagement efforts that strengthen relationships and enhance the value of cooperative membership. This role plays a key part in elevating the Valley Wide and Valley Ag brands through strategic social media leadership, creative execution, and meaningful member engagement.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.

  • Develop and execute social media strategies across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) to grow engagement, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
  • Lead all social-based marketing initiatives, including content planning, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Create and oversee high-quality creative assets (photo, video, graphics, print, digital campaigns) that align with brand standards.
  • Maintain and strengthen the Valley Wide and Valley Ag brands across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, category managers, field managers, store operations) to execute campaigns and promotions effectively.
  • Analyze performance metrics, customer behavior, and engagement data to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors including creative agencies, videographers, and media partners.
  • Develop and manage budgets for social media and creative marketing initiatives.
  • Travel to Valley Wide locations is needed to capture content and support local marketing efforts.
  • Support initiatives that promote the value of membership through digital channels, events, and outreach efforts.
  • Assist in onboarding and educating new members on the benefits of Valley Wide Cooperative.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members, customers, and community stakeholders to strengthen loyalty and engagement.
  • Provide support in planning and executing member-focused events and community engagement activities.
  • Gather insights into member needs and feedback to help inform marketing strategies and improve the overall member experience.
  • Promote cooperative values and advocate for member interests through content and communications.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field and Ag background preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation tools, and analytics.
  • Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns and brand strategies.
  • Creative mindset with knowledge of design, photography, videography, or digital content tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and highly collaborative work style.
  • Knowledge of cooperative principles or member-based organizations is a plus.
  • Occasional travel to support field marketing, content creation, and events.
  • Maintain a professional and positive image that reflects Valley Wide Cooperative values.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
