Description

Our client, a Mass Media and Entertainment company, is looking for a Social Media Coordinator, Food Network + Home Brands & Magnolia Network for their New York, NY/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • This Social Media Contractor role supports Food Network’s marketing team by managing the full social media lifecycle for assigned shows, including content creation, copywriting, asset coordination, social scheduling, and promotional video editing using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
  • Own and manage the social media promotion strategy for assigned Food Network shows.
  • Coordinate and request marketing assets from production companies before show premieres.
  • Review and select video cuts to create engaging social media content.
  • Write clear, compelling copy for social media posts and campaigns.
  • Schedule and publish content across Food Network social platforms.
  • Create promotional highlight reels and short-form video content using Adobe Premiere.
  • Develop creative social assets, including memes and other audience engagement content.
  • Support shows marketing efforts throughout the entire lifecycle, from pre-premiere promotion through post-launch engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the social media team and receive ongoing feedback to optimize content performance.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality, detail-oriented public-facing content that reflects the Food Network brand
  • Developing fresh content ideas, promotions, memes, and audience engagement strategies that help shows stand out.
  • Working effectively with social, marketing, PR, digital, talent, and production teams in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Managing multiple shows, content schedules, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Adjusting quickly to changing priorities, programming schedules, and content needs in a fast-paced media environment.
  • Taking responsibility for assigned shows and driving projects from planning through execution with minimal oversight.
  • Incorporating frequent coaching and feedback to continuously improve content quality and performance.
  • Establishing positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, teammates, and production partners.
  • Understanding how to represent the Food Network brand appropriately across public-facing social channels.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for entertainment, digital storytelling, audience engagement, and social trends.
  • Making thoughtful decisions about content selection, messaging, and public-facing communications.
  • Contributing to a fun, supportive, and inclusive team culture where ideas are shared openly.
 
Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience, strong writing and attention to detail, and a passion for creating engaging public-facing content in a collaborative, fast-paced entertainment environment.

  • The contractor will own the social promotion strategy and execution for assigned television shows, creating content that reaches millions of viewers across highly visible social platforms.

  • Adobe Premier experience and examples (Portfolio) 3+ years
  • Adobe Photoshop experience and examples (Portfolio) 3+ years
  • Copywriting experience 3+ years
  • Don’t need to have a food background but an interest in food is preferred
  • Experience with sprout for social analytics.
  • Attention to detail and overall care in the work they perform.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging social media copy tailored to different audiences and platforms.
  • Adobe Creative Suite:
  • Premier, Photoshop – primarily.
  • Experience with Social Media Platforms
  • Bachelors required, no specific concentration
