The Tomah Area School District has the following vacancy beginning in the 2026-2027 school year:

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coach/Coordinator

The SEL coach/coordinator will help schools implement an approach to SEL aligned to the district SEL strategic plan. The coach will provide professional development to school leaders, teachers, and staff on how to apply SEL best practices with students. They will work to ensure that SEL is integrated into classroom instruction and educators' daily practices. This person must have strong interpersonal skills as they will work collaboratively with stakeholders-including administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, and community partners to coordinate and allocate resources that meet what needs of students and build a positive school climate. Data collection and analysis is also an important skillset. Additionally, the SEL coach will promote school culture & climate by managing and supporting key events and programs across the district. This position requires someone who has a strong background in: RtI and PBIS, Professional Learning Communities, Mental Health, and Differentiated Instruction.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designing and leading professional learning opportunities for educators. (Trauma Sensitive Practices, Compassion Reliance, etc.)
  • Modeling and coaching the delivery of SEL lessons in the classroom using various models: 1:1 coaching, peer coaching and co-teaching.
  • Create, adapt, and execute SEL initiatives within schools (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3)
  • Provide technical assistance and best practices to district and school staff around promoting students' social-emotional development and well-being.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, summarize and apply SEL district wide data.
  • Coordinate/oversee SEL grants
  • Participate in the District EMLSS team
  • Model and braid instructional and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) best practices within an Equitable Multi-Level System of Supports framework.

This is a full-time position starting with the 2026-2027 school year. Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available.

Qualifications: Must have, or must receive prior to the first day of work, appropriate licensure for the position as determined by state law and the District. Prefer teaching experience but not required. Please upload a copy of your license.
