ABA Instructor - Windsor, Connecticut
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the school administrator or designee, to support one-to-one classroom instruction, provide academic and behavioral intervention, and other general instructional support duties throughout the school utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Support daily functions of the school, including but not limited to arrival, dismissal, snack, lunch coverage, recess, and covering classrooms as needed.
- Provide Individualized 1:1 and/or small group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Collect, track, and enter student data in the moment, as well as enter data into the school and district database.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff.
- Remain proficient in and perform competency-based training in principles of learning and applied behavior methodology.
- Implement academic and behavioral programming.
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to pass the competency checklist within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to pass Safety Care/PMT training within 90 days of hire.
- Apply individualized student behavior management strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year working with students with disabilities.
