Job Title: Snowflake Security & Access Governance Architect
Location: Remote (US/Canada)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Security & Access Governance Architect to join a long-term enterprise engagement. This role is focused on designing, implementing, and governing security across the Snowflake platform, ensuring secure access to enterprise data while enabling analytics and AI capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake security architecture, identity and access management (IAM), cloud security, and governance, along with hands-on experience implementing enterprise security controls and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure Snowflake security architecture and role-based access control (RBAC) models.
  • Configure and manage authentication and identity integrations, including SSO, MFA, and SCIM-based user provisioning.
  • Implement Snowflake Horizon security features such as Dynamic Data Masking, Row Access Policies, and Tag-Based Data Classification.
  • Govern access to Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities using built-in roles and granular security controls.
  • Design and implement secure network connectivity using Network Policies and Private Link across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Monitor Access History and Account Usage to support security auditing, compliance, and governance initiatives.
  • Develop scalable access governance frameworks and security best practices across the Snowflake platform.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, and data engineering teams to ensure secure and compliant platform operations.
  • Support security assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake Security Architecture and Access Governance.
  • Expertise in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Identity & Access Management (IAM).
  • Experience configuring SSO, MFA, and SCIM integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake Horizon security capabilities.
  • Experience governing Snowflake Cortex AI and AI/LLM access controls.
  • Strong knowledge of Network Policies and Private Link implementation.
  • Experience with Snowflake Access History, Account Usage, and security auditing.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security concepts across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing enterprise security and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, data protection, and cloud security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
