Job Title: Snowflake Administrator

Location(s): Austin, TX


Experience Level:

  • 8+ years required.
  • Senior-level professional expected to work independently, handle complex assignments, and provide technical leadership.

Role Summary:
This position is focused on Snowflake platform administration, security governance, AI enablement, and data platform operations. The consultant will manage Snowflake environments, implement role-based security, support enterprise identity integrations, enable Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities, and build scalable data pipelines using DBT. The role also includes performance tuning, cost optimization, automation, and collaboration with data engineering and analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and optimize Snowflake environments.
  • Design and implement RBAC security models.
  • Manage SSO integrations with enterprise identity platforms.
  • Enable and govern Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities.
  • Provision users, roles, and permissions.
  • Build and maintain DBT-based data transformation pipelines.
  • Integrate Snowflake with Openflow or similar orchestration platforms.
  • Monitor warehouse utilization, query performance, and platform costs.
  • Implement security controls including encryption, masking, and auditing.
  • Develop automation scripts for platform administration and monitoring.
  • Support data engineering, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Participate in platform governance and operational best practices.

Required Skills (8+ Years):

  • Snowflake Administration (DBA/Admin).
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Data Governance and Access Management.
  • SSO Integration (Okta, SailPoint).
  • Snowflake Cortex AI Features.
  • User Provisioning and IAM Integration.
  • DBT Development and Data Pipelines.
  • Openflow or Workflow Automation Integration.
  • Performance Tuning and Cost Optimization.
  • Security Controls (Masking, Encryption, Auditing).
  • Scripting and Automation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration with Data and AI Teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • DevOps and CI/CD for Data Platforms (4+ years).
  • Openflow or Similar Orchestration Tools (3+ years).
  • Public Sector or Healthcare Compliance Experience (3+ years).

Ideal Candidate Profile:
A senior Snowflake Administrator with strong expertise in security, governance, AI enablement, DBT data engineering, and enterprise identity management. Experience supporting large-scale cloud data platforms, automation, and regulated environments such as healthcare or government would be highly valuable.
