LOCATION Southern Middle School
JOB SUMMARY The sponsor is responsible for working with the Secondary Science Supervisor and building principal to develop, implement, and evaluate their schools science fair. The employee will select the date for the school fair, arrange the location, awards, judges, and determine which projects advance to the county fair. The teacher will assemble the latest required forms, explain their use, and distribute them to the science teachers. The coordinator reviews all paperwork to ensure that each project entering the school fair has completed the necessary forms and is in compliance with all rules. The teacher also provides assistance at the county science fair.

OTHER DUTIES Performs related work as required or assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current year. Extra Pay for Extra Duty Longevity Pay Schedule.
FLSA STATUS Exempt
EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.
EFFECTIVE DATE OF POSITION School Year 2025-2026

References must be directly related to work experience and must include immediate supervisor.
