Complete Description:
Job Duties:
TheAdult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients. CABG's TAVI's and HeartFailure (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart and Heart Transplants) just to name afew. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of allages. The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge inpreparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures andassists the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation.Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room
turnover between cases. Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps
and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy. Demonstrates proper
handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered
nurse. Must have 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operation room.

Job Requirements:
- NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Two (2) years or recent experience in a cardiac OR
- Able to scrub and circulate

- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
