Overview:
We're seeking an experienced SME Lead to support enterprise Utilities Meter-to-Cash initiatives by providing both functional and technical leadership across customer information systems, business process optimization, and solution delivery.
This role is ideal for a utility industry expert who can bridge business and technology teams, translate requirements into technical solutions, and lead the successful delivery of complex Meter-to-Cash enhancements. The ideal candidate brings deep Utilities CIS experience, strong business process expertise, and the ability to own solution delivery from requirements through deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Meter-to-Cash initiatives across utility customer and billing systems.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria to create technical specifications and development plans.
Own delivery of assigned user stories, including analysis, development coordination, testing, and deployment activities.
Support business process definition and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop, test, and deploy solutions across lower environments and production releases.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and quality requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to deliver business capabilities.
Manage Jira stories, tasks, updates, and delivery activities.
Support release planning, testing coordination, and conflict-free deployments.
Drive collaboration between business and technical teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of Utilities Meter-to-Cash experience.
Strong technical and functional expertise within utility environments.
Experience with Utility Customer Information Systems (CIS).
Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Business process analysis and process definition experience.
Experience developing technical specifications from solution designs.
Experience managing user story delivery from requirements through deployment.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
Experience with Jira and Agile delivery environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Utility billing and customer operations experience.
Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within utilities.
Experience working with enterprise integration platforms.
Technical leadership or SME-level responsibilities within utility organizations.
Experience coordinating offshore or distributed teams.
Agile and Scrum delivery experience.
