Small Engine Mechanic
Summary: Under supervision, performs routine mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair on gardening and custodial equipment, appliances, and related tools.
Essential Duties: Repairs small engines, appliances, and equipment; diagnoses mechanical issues; replaces parts; tests performance; maintains records; stocks inventory; and trains staff.
Qualifications: Completion of a 2-year small engine or electrical apprenticeship and 2 years of related experience, or 4 years in electrical/custodial equipment maintenance. Must obtain a valid Nevada CDL and certifications such as asbestos and OSHA training within 12 months.
Other Requirements: May be called for off-hours emergencies.
Skills: Knowledge of engine and equipment repair, electrical testing, reading schematics, estimating costs, and working independently.
Work Environment: Exposure to weather, noise, hazards; physical demands include frequent lifting, standing, bending, and continuous fine motor skills.
