Start your new career as a Slitter Operator with MAU in Elk Grove Village, IL. As a Slitter Operator, you will operate slitting and roll handling equipment to produce high-quality finished products while maintaining safety, efficiency, and customer specifications. This is a direct hire opportunity.

What Were Looking For:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to read rulers and perform standard and metric measurements
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Experience with pallet wrapping, forklifts, or other material handling equipment preferred
  • Willingness to learn overhead hoist systems
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds

What Youll Do as a Slitter Operator:

  • Set up and operate core cutting and roll wrapping equipment
  • Cut cores to required sizes for production
  • Weigh, label, wrap, and palletize finished rolls
  • Transport finished materials to the finished goods area
  • Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production
  • Review customer specifications to ensure product compliance
  • Enter production data into Shop Floor and Quality systems
  • Communicate production status during shift handoffs
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and submit work orders as needed
  • Follow GMP, SOP, 5S, DTM, food safety, and allergen control procedures
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, and quality issues promptly
  • Provide break relief for Slitter Operators
  • Support other departments and shifts as business needs require
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives through the Global Performance System (GPS)
