Bgesh is looking for a Federal Construction Superintendent to oversee our construction projects. The project superintendent should possess strong leadership skills, a strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and in compliance with safety regulations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a clear background and can obtain a security clearance to work on a military installation or government facility on a construction project in the federal domain.
• Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction which includes 5 years as a superintendent. 
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
• Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding technical drawings.
• Valid OSHA certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience supporting government or federally funded projects preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly
• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Capable of reading, writing and conversing fluently in the English language and has excellent verbal and written communication skills to be used for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
• Familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations and have a commitment to maintaining safety standards on-site.
• Required to sit; walk or stand; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and bend at waist. 
• Occasionally required to climb unassisted while carrying up to 40 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED

• Must be onsite during project hours.
• Ensure the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 and EM 385-1-1 are met.
• Provide effective communication of schedule with project manager and government representatives.
• Develops and maintains a complete understanding of the contract documents.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors to facilitate the project schedule.
• Manage on-site safety and conditions.
• Collaborates with project manager daily via email and telephone. 
• Supervises daily construction activities to manage on-site personnel and meet project milestones. 
• Oversees delivery of tools and materials.
