Job Summary
The Site Sourcing Specialist will participate in or lead special projects related to the Sourcing function, such as managing site-specific commodities, documentation and compliance management, resourcing activities, and supplier rationalization activities. This position serves as the interface between the WPT Duncan, SC site and the regional commodity teams and acts as the first level escalation point for supply chain issues involving suppliers. The role primarily handles issues outside of the company's formal project phases but may intersect with project-related activities. The work environment is project-oriented and operates in a low-volume, high-mix production environment. Employees in this role add value by facilitating communication in and out of the Sourcing and Supply Chain Groups and handling site-specific sourcing issues that may involve cost reductions, business process improvements, and compliance-related issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor direct material variances to inform finance and bid and proposal teams.
- Enter and maintain sourcing rules/parameters in the ERP system.
- Participate in identifying productivity actions with site sourcing management and communicate findings to the regional commodity teams.
- Provide inputs on site needs through frequent contact with users.
- Obtain samples and coordinate the APQP/PPAP qualification process with quality and engineering.
- Assist in material changeover activities during supplier resourcing or rationalization.
- Provide site-level documentation to the regional commodity teams (e.g., engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements).
- Review, with site sourcing management, the company fixed asset report on a monthly basis.
- Assist with documentation projects for business process improvements and site compliance.
- Act as the first level escalation point to assist the Supply Chain Group with supplier-related issues.
- Manage invoice discrepancies, engineering change requests, claims, and chargebacks.
- Manage site-specific commodities and services when assigned, which may involve RFI/RFQ and supplier qualification activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or General Education Degree required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Economics, or Finance preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in the manufacturing, transportation, or heavy construction industry.
- Two to four years of purchasing experience.

- Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), import and export laws, incoterms, exchange rates, and methodologies used in project management, material planning, and quality.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and standard Microsoft Office software at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Familiarity with large ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, Baan).
- Familiarity with ERP report out software/tools (Crystal reports, Power BI).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate with internal and external parties with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work in an ISO/IRIS quality system environment.
Authority
Employees work under the site sourcing delegation of authority for purchase orders, capital purchase requisitions, purchase card usage, and contracting instruments (e.g., long-term agreements, master service agreements, letters of intent). All WPT employees have the authority to stop the process they are performing if it becomes unsafe or the outputs are nonconforming.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and stand.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and ear protection) when entering the shop environment.
- Regularly required to be on-site.
- May be required to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10% of the time.
Work Environment
The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, the employee may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
