As a leader in commercial and heavy civil construction, we take pride in building complex infrastructure projects while ensuring every employee returns home safely each day.What You'll DoAs the Site Safety Coordinator, you'll serve as a trusted safety resource for field personnel, project management teams, and company leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, and safety observations across multiple active projects.Identify hazards and work collaboratively with project teams to implement corrective actions.Support high-risk operations including:Excavation and trenchingHeavy equipment operationsCrane and rigging activitiesStructural concrete workUtility installationConfined space entryTraffic control operationsAssist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.Conduct new hire orientations and project-specific safety training.Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee engagement initiatives.Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety plans.Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client safety requirements.Track safety performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.Partner with operations, project managers, superintendents, and craft employees to strengthen safety culture across all levels of the organization.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications5–7 years of construction safety experience.Experience supporting commercial, heavy civil, industrial, infrastructure, transportation, or water/wastewater construction projects.Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.Ability to effectively manage safety across multiple projects and operational areas simultaneously.Proven ability to work well with diverse teams in high-risk and fast-paced environments.Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.Experience conducting field audits, inspections, and incident investigations.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to travel regularly to project sites.Preferred QualificationsOSHA 510 and/or OSHA 500 certification.CHST, ASP, CSP, STS, or similar professional safety certification.Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field.Experience with water and wastewater treatment plant construction, structural concrete, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.Competitive pay based on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(k) with Company MatchHealth Savings Account (HSA)Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Life InsuranceLong-Term Disability InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off & Paid HolidaysReferral Bonus ProgramCompany VehicleCompany PhoneCareer advancement opportunities with a growing heavy civil contractorOpportunity to make a lasting impact on our safety culture and future growthWho We AreGerber Construction is a heavy civil contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment facilities, structural concrete, earthwork, underground utilities, restoration, and infrastructure projects throughout the Intermountain West.
