The Site Safety Manager will effectively mitigate hazards and minimize accidents and health exposures.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with Safety Director (“SD”) on safety policies, procedures and safety manualAssist in the daily JSA development with the Safety Project team for specific work activitiesInspect tools/equipment with assistance from the Safety Project teamCoordinate with the Safety Director to variance for site specific safety issues (i.e., fall protection)Attend joint safety meetings with the client and project teamCoordinate weekly/biweekly safety communications with Good Work Practices and safety communication to continually improve our safety cultureAssist in the development of improvement plans and training to improve safety proceduresDocument injuries, report incidents, and investigate and manage claimsDevelop and lead safety investigation to identify root cause analysis, developing improvement plans and assisting HR with personnel improvement plans or retraining requirementsReport, record and track injuries requiring medical treatmentTrack and manage work related injuriesSubmit incidents and near misses to the Safety DirectorDocument motor vehicle accidents and provide a detailed accident investigationPrepare and submit proposals for training and safety measures, including equipment and processesProvide safety orientations and provide new hire orientations for the project teamCoordinate in maintaining training records for the Company's workforceAssist in sourcing third party training coursesAssist in scheduling and documenting health exams post-accident drug testingDevelop/revise/audit safety hazard assessment documentation completion processesModify and develop JSA formsModify and develop monthly inspection form and assist with online form managementDevelop, revise, and maintain project and site safety plansDevelop and approve job health risk assessmentsReview and audit site job hazard analysis programsReview and revise safety hazard assessments plans and document per client requirementsWork with Clients, General Contractors and Site Managers to correct site issuesConduct job walks with clientsAttend meetings, including safety meetings, incident reviews, project kick-off, safety stand-downs, and other work process meetingsAssist in development of best practices and protocols with clients and general contractors.Assist in staff managementProvide guidance to work force and project management personnelPromote the company's safety culture and standardsMiscellaneous Other DutiesAssist in issuance of fall protection plans for projectsAssist in management of confined space equipment, plans and trainingAssist in issuance and operation of 4-gas meters and calibration equipmentAssist in ordering safety equipmentAssist in evaluating, testing and standardizing PPEAssist in problem solving safety issuesProvide first-aid, medical transport and triageEnsure compliance with the Safety Program, OSHA regulations, company operating policies and proceduresCommunicate critical and/or sensitive issues to the executive team with recommendation for resolution.Perform additional assignments as required by Safety Director or as directed the project team.Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in construction; proven successful experience in a safety role preferredConstruction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification is preferred.OSHA 500 instructor certifications is preferredExperience writing Health and Safety Plans (HASP's) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's).Fall Protection Competent PersonDeep understanding of occupational health and safety guidelines/regulationsIn-depth knowledge of the construction industry, federal, state and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.Ability to perform public speaking for safety training purposes.Valid driver's license in good standing.Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel).Working knowledge of project and financial software a plus.The requirements listed below are representative of characteristics and demonstrated capabilities sought to perform this job successfully.
