Celebrating 85 Years of Building With Purpose
At Absher Construction, we're proud to celebrate over 85 years as one of the Pacific Northwest's most respected general contractors. As a 100% employee-owned company, we believe our people are our greatest asset and we invest in them like it! From fully paid medical premiums for employees, to a generous PTO policy, 401(k) and ESOP retirement benefits, we offer a total rewards package that reflects the pride and ownership we bring to every project.
As a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), you'll lead safety implementation on federal construction projects while serving as the on-site authority for safety compliance. You'll ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with the project's Accident Prevention Plan (APP), EM 385-1-1 requirements, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
In this role, you'll work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and craft teams to identify hazards early, reinforce safe work practices, and maintain a strong, people-first safety culture on the jobsite.
This position requires a visible field presence, strong technical knowledge of federal safety requirements, and the ability to partner with project teams to embed safety into daily operations.
You're a visible and proactive safety leader who believes strong safety performance starts with trust and accountability. You thrive in the field environment, communicate clearly with crews and leadership, and understand how to balance regulatory compliance with practical jobsite solutions.
