    Description

    We are currently sourcing for a Site Reliability Engineer to work in an Enterprise Infrastructure Group in Westlake, TX.

    The Role

    We are looking for a motivated individual with proven development experience to work as a Site Reliability Engineer and member of a development team which builds and tests business software for a Life Insurance business. You will work with team members and business partners to implement complex on-prem and cloud applications as well as supporting infrastructures, and you will work in a modern DevOps environment.

    Team

    Production Service Engineers in the Life Insurance domain support a wide landscape of business applications and are responsible for the stability and reliability of these platforms. This team plays a key role in initiatives to build and maintain insurance applications in the cloud.

    The primary focus is production support. This is also an opportunity to be hands-on, as you will be embedded in the development squad to focus on coding, infrastructure-as-code, test automation, and process improvements. The team strives to eliminate toil and manual efforts in the overall software development process while creating high-quality working software.

    The Expertise You Have

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, (or equivalent)
    • Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience
    • Hands-on Linux experience preferred (user and permissions management, file systems, performance tuning)
    • Hands-on Experience in AWS compute and storage services (AWS Lambda, S3, Glue, Route 53 & IAM), Kubernetes
    • Observability skills such as Datadog, Splunk, SLI/SLO and other tools.
    • Some databases and using SQL (like Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, or Dynamo DB) required
    • Proficiency with Data Processing and ETL (Control-M & Informatica)
    • Experience with tools like: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy, JIRA, Artifactory, Sonar.
    • Proficiency with scripting languages like Python, Java, Bash or Power Shell preferred
    • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines using technology such as Groovy, Jenkins, JenkinsCore and Urbancode Deploy preferred
    • Experience with ITSM (Incident, Change & Problem Management)
    • Automation skills
    • Excellent at communicating and building relationships across teams and technology partners
    • Confidence to work independently and with minimum supervision
