Careers Made Possible at Brian Perry Civil

Ready to take the next step in your career? Join a team that thrives on collaboration and bold thinking, delivering complex civil projects that shape communities and protect environments. Here, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work leaves a lasting impact.

    About the Role

We are looking for a Site Engineer with strong structures experience to join the team delivering the Hawke's Bay Expressway. This is a hands-on role supporting the construction of bridges and structural elements on a major transport project that will shape how the region connects and grows.

You will work closely with the delivery team on site, taking ownership of planning, quality, safety, and coordination of works. If you enjoy solving problems on the ground, building strong relationships, and seeing tangible progress each week, this role will suit you well.

    • Plan and coordinate daily to short-term construction activities for structural works
    • Support foremen and crews with sequencing, work packs, and site readiness
    • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to meet programme and quality requirements
    • Monitor and record quality, safety, and environmental controls on site
    • Track progress, costs, and productivity against task budgets
    • Communicate clearly with the wider project team on issues and solutions

    What You'll Bring

You enjoy being part of a delivery team and take pride in well-organised, safe, and high-quality construction.

    • A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline
    • Experience working as a Site Engineer on structural or bridge projects
    • Solid understanding of reinforced concrete, formwork, and structural sequencing
    • Confidence coordinating subcontractors and on-site crews
    • Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills
    • A practical, team-focused approach and clear communication style
