Jordan Singer Youth Enrichment Center (JSYEC) Site Director provides overall leadership, management, and operational oversight of the center, which serves children in grades K–4. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment that supports high-quality programs, services, and community engagement. The Site Director oversees all center operations including all directors and leaders in the building, front desk services, and kitchen operations. The Site Director leads, supervises, and develops staff while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, licensing, safety regulations, and operational standards.
This is a full-time, year-round leadership position. Work hours vary throughout the year in response to program schedules and operational needs, including school-year programming, summer programming, and school breaks. Flexibility is required to ensure high-quality program delivery. During the school year, hours align with out-of-school-time programming; during summer and school breaks, hours adjust to support full-day or extended programming as needed, including running JSYEC camp programming.
In This Role You'll:
- Provide overall leadership and operational management of the BGCGM JSYEC site.
- Ensure the center operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational mission, values, and goals.
- Develop and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and structured environment for children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for the center.
- Supervise and support the directors and leaders in the building, ensuring that they have the tools and resources they need to run their departments.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to align center services with broader organizational goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff performance in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Director of Human Resources.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work culture.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Ensure appropriate staff coverage during all hours of operation.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, staffing, incidents, and operations.
- Assist with budget oversight, purchasing, and expense management within approved guidelines.
- Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
In This Role You'll Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, human services, education, or a related field required; equivalent combinations of relevant direct care and leadership experience will be considered.
- Minimum age of 20 years old.
- Ability to pass background screening and required clearances.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in youth development, education, or community-based programming.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operations, and oversee multiple functions.
- Maintain personal auto insurance policy with a minimum of liability insurance.
- Maintain a CDL-B License with passenger endorsement.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-pressure situations. Regular and reliable attendance required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Actively supervise and participate in recreational, athletic, and educational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Stand, walk, run, and engage in physical play for extended periods (8 hours).
- Respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies, including the ability to move swiftly to ensure the safety of members.
- Maintain energy and alertness throughout extended shifts, often in a loud or high-energy setting.
- Work in various environments, including gymnasiums, playgrounds, classrooms, and outdoor fields.
- Lift and carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Perform basic physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Using general office equipment, including phones, copiers, and computer equipment.
