Position Overview: As a Simulation Lab Technician at Galen College of Nursing, you will support and enhance simulation and clinical learning lab experiences for all learners in collaboration with program faculty to ensure quality, consistency, and continuity in the achievement of course student learning outcomes across all programs. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for audio-visual, IT, and simulation systems. Set up, operate, maintain, update, and repair simulators, task trainers, and related equipment. Prepare simulation environments to accurately represent clinical settings and create moulage as needed. Prepare clinical learning lab equipment for scheduled classes and open labs. Ensure equipment is cleaned, stored, inventoried, and maintained in good working order. Maintain stock control and ensure lab and simulation areas are safe, organized, and compliant. Support faculty and learners in the effective use of instructional media and lab resources. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Technical diploma or associate degree required. Experience in a technical or clinical learning environment preferred. Strong technical aptitude and comfort with simulation and AV systems. Effective communication and collaboration with faculty and learners. High attention to detail and commitment to safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Must be able to work weekends as needed. PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS This position requires a combination of sedentary work and physical activity in a lab and simulation environment. The following demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role: Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout lab and simulation spaces during class preparation and operation. Must be able to lift, carry, and position equipment and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to operate computers, AV systems, simulation equipment, and related technology for extended periods. Requires critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to respond quickly to technical issues in a live learning environment. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with faculty, learners, and staff.
