The Simulation Educator designsdevelops implements and evaluates simulation-based learning experiences thatsupport health professions education at the Belmont University Center forInterprofessional Engagement and Simulation BUCIES. Simulation activities mayinclude discipline-specific learning experiences as well as interprofessionaleducation initiatives.

This position collaborates withfaculty simulation operations staff standardized patient educators and otherstakeholders to develop high-quality evidence-based simulation activitiesaligned with course objectives Healthcare Simulation Standards of BestPractice HSSOBP and accreditation requirements.

The Simulation Educatorcontributes expertise in curriculum design experiential learning andsimulation pedagogy to support the integration of simulation into academicprograms. The role also supports faculty development program evaluationscholarly activities and outreach efforts that promote the mission and growthof BUCIES.

The Simulation Educator also participates in the exploration andimplementation of emerging simulation technologies and innovative teachingapproaches that enhance experiential learning.

Primary position responsibilities

Lead the development implementation planning and evaluation of simulation-based learning activities in collaboration with faculty simulation operations specialists and other stakeholders. Provide expertise in curriculum alignment learning objectives technology integration and the effective and judicious use of simulation resources to support high-quality learning experiences consistent with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice HSSOBP and applicable accreditation standards.

Collaborate with the Director of EducationDirector of Operations simulation managers simulation specialistsstandardized patient educators and other relevant partners to develop anddeliver faculty and staff development in simulation-based education. Provideconsultation training and guidance on simulation pedagogy debriefingscenario design standards of best practice accreditation-relatedexpectations and the effective use of simulation modalities technologies andresources.

Collaborate with simulation operationsspecialists simulation managers standardized patient educators and otherteam members to support the operational planning and execution of simulationactivities. Contribute to the selection and appropriate use of simulationmodalities equipment supplies spaces and environmental elements to ensurefidelity realism and alignment with educational goals. Help anticipate futureprogrammatic needs by identifying supplies equipment and staff developmentpriorities needed to support evolving educational activities. Participate insimulation setup delivery and related activities as appropriate.

Contribute to scholarly research grant andinnovation activities that support the mission and growth of BUCIES incoordination with the centers leadership and research partners. Assist withproject development data collection dissemination and other scholarly orprogrammatic initiatives as appropriate. Participate in local regional andnational meetings or conferences at the direction of the supervisor.

Support outreach engagement and visibilityefforts for BUCIES through facility tours special events presentations andother activities that promote awareness of the centers programs services andcapabilities. Assist with marketing communications and relationship-buildingefforts as appropriate.
