Shenandoah University’s School of Nursing is accepting applications for a Simulation Assistant. This is a part-time position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia with occasional travel to the Loudoun Campus in Leesburg, VA.
The Simulation Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in the daily operations of the clinical simulation department. This position primarily focuses on the management and coordination of the Standardized Patient (SP) Program and the School of Nursing Simulation Administrative Assistant duties related to Clinical Simulation across all university sites. The Simulation Administrative Assistant will serve as the central point of contact for SP logistics, recruitment, and quality assurance, while ensuring the administrative and technical needs of the simulation suites are met in alignment with educational best practices.
KeyResponsibilitiesinclude:
Standardized Patient(SP)ProgramCoordination:
- Logistics & Scheduling: Create, manage, and maintain comprehensive SP program schedules. Coordinate SP bookings, including availability requests, confirmations, and training session scheduling.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Identify and recruit SPs based on specific case criteria and demographics. Lead the orientation and onboarding process for new participants.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver training to SPs in alignment with industrybest practices.
- Quality Assurance: Provide oversight and monitoring of SPs to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Database Management: Maintain an accurate SP database, including demographic information and participation history.
SchoolofNursingSimulationAdministrativeOperations:
- Calendar & Maintenance: Support maintaining the Simulation Calendar and coordinate with vendors to schedule and manage warranties and maintenance of manikins.
- Financial Documentation: Demonstrate responsibility for all SP payments and related documentation; maintain concise, accurate record-keeping.
- InventoryManagement:CoordinatesuppliesandmaintaininventoryfortheSimulationSuiteincollaborationwiththeDirector.
- Reporting: Responsible for compiling annualreportsandannualreviews of allscenarios.
- Engagement: Provide simulation suite tours in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Simulation, the Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing, Admissions, and OMC.
- Development: Assist in scenario production, aligning with best practices andcollaborating with the Director of Clinical Simulation.
