Duties & Responsibilities The Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety is looking for Simulation Assistants. This is a part-time hourly as needed position and individuals will be assigned for medical simulation events based on business need. Event hours typically range from early morning to later evening. Individuals will need to have flexible availability and will need to be comfortable with having medical ultrasounds performed and physical examinations performed on their body by our medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty members. This position will also include assisting our operations, technical, and educational staff with event timing, student transitions, equipment setup, strike down, and general administrative work.

Position Responsibilities Individuals will need to have flexible availability and will need to be comfortable with having medical ultrasounds performed and physical examinations performed on their body by our medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty members. This position will also include assisting our operations, technical, and educational staff with event timing, student transitions, equipment setup, strike down, and general administrative work.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Individuals must be comfortable with having multiple ultrasounds and physical examinations performed by instructors and medical student learners. Individuals must be comfortable with wearing a patient hospital gown for the duration of the event. Individuals should have extensive and working knowledge of Zoom. Individuals must have a mature and professional attitude. Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications Individuals should have some medical training and/or medical terminology knowledge. Individuals should have some general administrative and/or office assistant experience. Medical terminology experience is a plus. Zoom virtual meeting experience is a plus.

Salary Range 15F LSA Exemption Status Non-Exempt
