Position Overview
The Science Department seeks self-directed and responsible student interns to support teachers and staff in maintaining the smooth operation of science classes, labs, and facilities. Interns will gain hands-on experience in lab preparation, equipment management, and applied science practices while contributing to the overall success of the department.
Responsibilities
• Lab Support Assist teachers in preparing materials, equipment, and lab stations before experiments. Help clean and organize lab spaces after use.
• Stockroom & Inventory Monitor, organize, and restock supplies. Track equipment and materials. Assist in safe storage and disposal practices.
• Hydroponics & Aquaculture Labs Participate in the care and maintenance of plants and aquatic organisms. Monitor systems, record data, and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Equipment Care Clean, maintain, and report any damaged or missing lab equipment.
• Team Collaboration Work with teachers, staff, and peers to ensure smooth lab operations and efficient use of resources.
• Safety Practices Follow all lab safety protocols and model proper lab conduct.
Qualifications
Enrolled in high school with an interest in science, sustainability, or environmental studies. Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and apply new skills related to lab management and applied sciences. Prior lab experience through coursework or clubs is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment
Flexible, typically one class block or designated hours per week, to be arranged with the Science Department.

Science Department Chair or assigned science teacher.
