Someone with extensive sheet metal/aluminum experience seem to pass this weld test.
Weld Process-Low Heat
Mig-using short-circuit mode with small-diameter wire (0.023″ or 0.030″)
Tig-using thin (1 mm or smaller) sharpened tungsten for low heat spread is the best to produce low heat spread
Tips: run the thinnest wire possible; angle the heat toward the thicker metal
Materials
Sheet Metal/thin gauge metals -they will have to do tight fit ups and clamp very small precision parts
Inspection: Visual/Destruction
Heat input—Avoiding burn-through and warping
Weld penetration—Getting enough fusion without over melt
Appearance and distortion—Minimal warping, clean beads—visual test of clean fusions of metal
Defect avoidance—No undercut, porosity, or incomplete fusion
