Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Forklift Tire Technician to support our tire service operations based out of our Houston branch. This is a dual-role position involving both in-shop tire service and on-site road service in the Houston / Greater Houston area. The technician will perform forklift tire repairs and replacements in both controlled shop environments and field service settings. This includes mounting/dismounting tires, operating tire press machinery, conducting flat repairs, managing tire inventory, and supporting parts/materials handling.
Essential Functions - Tire Press Operation:
- Operate a hydraulic tire press to mount/dismount forklift tires and wheels for shop and field jobs
- Tire & Wheel Assembly:
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and repair tire and wheel assemblies, including hubs, wheels, and lock rings; paint parts as required
- Flat Repairs & Replacements:
- Perform flat tire repairs and replace worn or damaged tires on forklifts in both shop and field environments
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, stack, label, and stock incoming tire shipments.
- Track tire movement, prepare work orders, and maintain accurate inventory logs
- Order Fulfillment & Parts Support:
- Pull and prepare tire orders
- Assist in managing parts, materials, and supplies necessary for tire repair and maintenance
- Work Documentation:
- Accurately record services performed, materials used, and time spent on each job
- Maintain related service logs and documentation
- Shop Organization & Safety:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with company safety protocols and best practices
- Tool & Equipment Operation:
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, material handling equipment, and shop machinery necessary for tire operations
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of tire service or heavy equipment/forklift tire experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL a plus)
- Physically capable of lifting/moving heavy tires and equipment (up to 100 lbs)
- Familiarity with tire press machines and industrial tire servicing methods
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and team-first attitude
Travel Ability to travel on short notice and work flexible hours including some overtime and weekends Environmental Conditions - Shop and field-based service work
- Exposure to industrial equipment, tools, and occasional outdoor elements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required and provided
