Description

We are seeking a shop foreman for a CNC machine shop in the Plum, PA area.

Key Responsibilities

-Production Oversight: Manage the day-to-day shop operations to ensure machine parts and assemblies are manufactured efficiently and meet customer quality standards and delivery dates.
-Team Leadership & Training: Supervise a crew of machinists, CNC operators and assembly personnel by assigning tasks, evaluating employee performance, providing technical training and mentorship.
-Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control standards, ensure parts meet drawing tolerances and customer specifications, troubleshoot and resolve any nonconforming products.
-Equipment Management: Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, arrange for scheduled and emergency machinery repairs, help research, purchase, install and implement the use of new equipment or technology in the shop.
-Safety and Housekeeping: Enforce safety policies, maintain the proper use of shop equipment as well as PPE, and ensure a clean working environment is maintained at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

-Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a machinist with proven supervisory and leadership experience.
-Technical Acumen: Ability to read and interpret complex technical standards, engineering drawings, and procedures.
-Machinery Knowledge: Hands-on expertise with CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes, etc.) an understanding of programming, tooling, and setup. A strong understanding of G and M codes is a must.
-Problem-Solving: Strong mechanical aptitude to quickly diagnose equipment or program malfunctions or workflow bottlenecks to minimize downtime.
-CNC Machine tools that they will used are Okuma, Mori Seiki, Kitamura, and Haas.
-This is a first shift position, hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 with one to two hours of overtime per day.
