Job Requirements
Schedule & Physical Demands: Ability to work 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday) with frequent standing, squatting, kneeling, and lifting of 50–75 lbs.
Communication & Math Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills to read work instructions, complete simple correspondence, and perform basic math calculations (units of measure, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages).
Technical & Equipment Readiness: Detail-oriented with the ability to deal with standardized workplace problems and complete training on nail/staple guns, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
Preferred Experience & Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; experience with UPS/FedEx systems (including WorldShip), SAP, hazardous materials shipping, pallet jacks, forklifts, and power/hand tools is a major plus.
Job Duties
Order Fulfillment & Packaging: Gather, inspect, package, and crate parts according to computerized work instructions and bills of materials, removing defective items and maintaining order completeness.
Shipping System & Documentation Processing: Utilize small package carrier systems (UPS/FedEx) to create tracking labels, produce supporting documentation, and process electronic transactions in the warehouse management system prior to delivery.
Inventory & Warehouse Upkeep: Restock shelves, maintain stock levels, report shortages to the Shop Supervisor, participate in regular physical inventory audits, and safely operate material handling equipment.
Safety & Quality Standards: Strictly adhere to and uphold all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Nucor is seeking a Shipping-Crating Specialist - UPS in Jackson, WI to assemble kits, process requests, and package orders utilizing UPS and FedEx shipping systems.
