Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing all inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining accurate inventory and an organized, safe warehouse environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency by verifying materials, preparing orders, and supporting both logistics and customer needs.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesShipping Duties
- Pull, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment
- Complete shipping documentation, including labels and Bills of Lading
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups
- Track, trace, and resolve delayed or lost shipments, including filing claims
- Ensure outgoing shipments are properly palletized, shrink-wrapped, and documented
- Provide product quotes to customers and collaborate with the sales team
Receiving Duties
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders
- Inspect materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies
- Unload deliveries using forklifts or pallet jacks
- Label, store, and rotate inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) methods
- Provide receiving documentation to purchasing and quality teams
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for finished goods, raw materials, and supplies
- Perform routine cycle counts (weekly/monthly) and reconcile discrepancies
- Track inventory using spreadsheets or inventory management systems
Warehouse Organization & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant warehouse
- Ensure aisles are clear and workspace is free of debris
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Assist with general warehouse operations as needed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift certification and prior warehouse experience
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs on a regular basis
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including hot and cold conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and hazard labeling
- Experience operating pallet jacks, hand tools, and scanning equipment
- Experience providing product pricing or customer quotes
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Active role requiring standing, walking, lifting, and equipment operation
- Exposure to varying temperatures and warehouse conditions
- Frequent interaction with team members, carriers, and internal departments
