Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk verifies and records all incoming and outgoing shipments in a large, clean manufacturing environment. This role prepares and schedules items for shipment, compares shipment details against documentation, and ensures materials move accurately and efficiently through the warehouse using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Responsibilities
Verify and keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Prepare and schedule items for shipment according to established procedures and timelines.
Compare identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments to bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records, including counts, weights, and measurements.
Determine the appropriate method of shipment by applying knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Affix shipping labels to packed cartons or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons using stencil equipment.
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or preassemble items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective padding to protect products during transit.
Plan and monitor daily shipments to minimize documentation discrepancies and improve accuracy.
Ensure on-time shipment and on-time documentation, including booking follow-up and monitoring shipments from point of origin to point of destination.
Receive incoming orders of materials, equipment, and supplies and accurately maintain records in the computer using data entry.
Verify information from bills of lading, invoices, and orders against actual shipments to confirm completeness and correctness.
Record and report shortages and damages found in shipments and work to resolve and rectify issues.
Operate forklift trucks and pallet jacks to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
Perform general material handling, packaging, packing, and inventory-related tasks as needed to support shipping and receiving operations.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving or a closely related warehouse role.
Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including preparation and verification of shipments.
Ability to determine appropriate methods of shipment using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Proficiency in comparing shipment details to bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other documentation.
Ability to operate forklift trucks safely for material movement within the warehouse.
Ability to operate pallet jacks for transporting materials and products.
Strong data entry skills for accurately maintaining shipping, receiving, and inventory records in computer systems.
Attention to detail in verifying counts, weights, measurements, and shipment documentation.
High School Diploma (HS Diploma) required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with packaging and packing products using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
Familiarity with assembling wooden or cardboard containers for shipping.
Ability to affix shipping labels and use stencil equipment for identifying shipping information on cartons.
Experience in material handling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Ability to track and monitor shipments from origin to destination and follow up on bookings.
Experience maintaining accurate records of shortages and damages and supporting issue resolution.
Comfort working with inventory-related tasks and general warehouse operations.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very large, clean manufacturing environment that produces interior components for aircraft, such as galleys, closets, lavatories, floor panels, class dividers, and sidewalls. Work takes place in a warehouse and production setting that relies on material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as computer systems for data entry and record keeping. The environment emphasizes organization, safety, and cleanliness, with a focus on efficient movement and accurate documentation of materials and finished products.

This is a Contract position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
