Location: McAllen, TX 78503 – FULLY ONSITE
Pay Rate: $12.50/hour on W2
Contract Duration: 6+ Months – Potential for Extension

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Shipping & Receiving Assistant to support daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production operations. This position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming materials, maintaining accurate shipment records, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring shipping and receiving areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, material handling, or logistics experience, be comfortable with physical work, and have experience using a forklift and hand truck.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily shipping and receiving activities, including preparing, packing, labeling, palletizing, and dispatching orders.
  • Receive incoming shipments physically and enter receipt information into IQMS or a similar inventory/ERP system.
  • Verify outgoing items against sales orders or work orders to ensure quantities, destinations, and routing information are accurate.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Receive product returns, coordinate collections, and provide shipment tracking information.
  • Contact carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries and provide shipping instructions.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including required paperwork for domestic and international shipments.
  • Track shipments and provide proof of delivery when requested.
  • Use carrier websites and shipping software to process and monitor shipments.
  • Perform incoming material inspections and verification checks when required.
  • Complete local deliveries and pickups as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving areas, loading docks, and surrounding areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Remove excess cardboard, strapping, trash, and unnecessary pallets daily.
  • Assist production and other departments based on operational needs.
  • Follow departmental policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support the ISO Quality System, continuous improvement initiatives, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, distribution, or material handling preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and hand truck.
  • Experience with shipping carrier websites/software and shipment documentation is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
  • Experience with IQMS or another ERP/inventory management system is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately verify quantities, shipping destinations, routing information, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to changing operational or customer demands.
  • Ability to perform physical warehouse duties, including lifting up to approximately 40 lbs.
  • Must possess a current, valid UK or US driver’s license, depending on the work location.
