Shipping Manager, Split Shift

The Shipping Manager, Split Shift will be responsible for managing daily shipping and distribution operations. They will be responsible for making sure customer orders are processed in a timely and efficient manner. The Shipping Manager, Split Shift must beanalytical, well-organized, and excel in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems, as well as have a strong knowledge of shipping and receiving best practices. They must have a clear leadership style that promotes accountability and teamwork. The Shipping Manager, Split Shift provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions

• Ability to work onsite, Monday-Friday at 10:30am and staying until all duties are complete.
• Use software to track, check, prioritize, and route customer orders.
• Ability to sell and write orders.
• Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notices, packing slips, bills of lading, etc.
• Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
• Supervise and lead subordinate team members.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Collaborate with warehouse, drivers, dispatch, and other managers to optimize processes.
• Accurately picks, packs, and loads customer orders onto delivery vehicles
• Delegate workforce and be accountable for productivity for the department's day-to-day operations.
• Assign work orders to shipping staff and ensure complete and accurate paperwork.
• Investigate items not found by picking staff and make appropriate adjustments and reports.
• May prepare routine reports and file shipping records.
• May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine.
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives and continuous quality improvement objectives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven track record of managing a team in a warehouse environment.
• Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
• Must be able to communicate in English about the position's essential functions.

Required Experience and Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Five years of prior warehouse experience with a focus on distribution.
• Four years of prior management experience with a focus on distribution.
• Prior crane and cherry picker operations preferred.
• Prior forklift experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50 lbs.
• Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
• Requires the ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
