Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to oversee and optimize our shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics, and the ability to manage a team to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily shipping and distribution operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, train, and supervise the shipping team to maintain high performance and accountability.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, prepare reports, and analyze shipping metrics for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all shipping equipment, vehicles, and inventory handling meet safety and operational standards.
- Oversee carrier relationships, negotiate rates, and monitor service quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier contracts, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
