The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Shipping Coordinator - R&D Sample Logistics for a prominent client of ours.  This position is in Worcester, MA 01605. Details for the position are as follows:

Shipping Coordinator (R&D Sample Logistics)

Pay: $25–35/hour
Location: Worcester, MA (100% Onsite)

Position Overview

This is a shipping and logistics role supporting a prominent R&D organization. The position is responsible for preparing, packaging, documenting, and coordinating domestic and international shipments of research materials to sites and external partners.

Although the team works with research samples, this is not a laboratory or sample processing position. The ideal candidate is someone with strong hands-on shipping experience who understands documentation, courier coordination, and regulated shipping requirements.

Approximately 70% domestic shipments / 30% international shipments.

What the Hiring Manager is Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree 
  • 2+ years of hands-on shipping/logistics experience
  • Experience preparing, packaging, scheduling, and tracking shipments
  • Experience using shipping systems such as:
    • FedEx
    • UPS
    • DHL
    • Specialty courier platforms
  • Strong documentation accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating courier pickups and shipment tracking
  • Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working in an active shipping environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, medical device, clinical research, or biologics shipping
  • Dry ice and temperature-controlled shipments
  • International shipping and customs documentation
  • Global Trade Compliance exposure
  • Hazardous materials/shipping regulations knowledge
  • Inventory management systems
  • Bachelor's degree

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and ship research materials to internal AbbVie sites and external collaborators
  • Generate shipping labels, customs paperwork, and bills of lading
  • Coordinate FedEx/DHL/UPS and specialty courier pickups
  • Package temperature-controlled and dry-ice shipments
  • Track shipments and resolve shipping delays
  • Maintain shipping documentation and records
  • Monitor shipping supply inventory
  • Partner with Global Trade Compliance on international shipments
  • Support continuous improvement of shipping processes
  • Provide shipment status updates and reporting
