Shipping Clerk
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $17.00
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a - 4:30pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic team! The ShippingClerk is responsible for accurately preparing, verifying, and shipping outbound products while ensuring all documentation, labeling, and carrier requirements are met. This role requires strong attention to detail, experience with FedEx and UPS shipping systems, and the ability to identify and resolve issues prior to shipment to maintain quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities
- Review all shipment tags and paperwork for accuracy before final processing
- Inspect pallets for quality issues including torn tags, damaged pallets, torn wrap, or product damage
- Process shipments using FedEx and UPS systems, ensuring correct service levels, labels, and documentation
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when verifying shipments and carrier paperwork
- Keep shipping and dock areas clean, organized, and orderly at all times
- Notify Supervisor of delays or issues with loading, equipment, or personnel
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on workload and department needs
Qualifications- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using FedEx and UPS shipping systems required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment where accuracy and efficiency are paramount.
- Embrace a team environment and enjoy collaborating with others to achieve a common goal.
- Have a minimum of 6 months' experience working in a warehouse or distribution center.
- Demonstrate strong physical abilities, including lifting, up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Possess basic computer skills with a working knowledge of warehouse management systems and scanning equipment.
