Shipping Clerk
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Salary Range: 18.00 HR
Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.
Duties/Responsibilities.
· Preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments.
· Organizing inventory for easy retrieval.
· Reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules.
· Documenting damages to inventory.
· Recording shipping orders, labeling items, and packing items into containers for shipping.
· Verifying and approving shipments (outgoing or incoming).
· Loading or unloading materials.
· Managing inventory levels and preparing shipping documents.
· Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
· Any other duty as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May provide daily tasks for a Shipping Associate.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Education/Experience Required:
· High School Diploma or GED, required.
· One (1) or more years of experience as a shipping clerk in a manufacturing environment.
· Two (2) to four (4) years as a shipping clerk and/or shipping lead.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
· Able to travel as needed.
