The role of the shipping & receiving specialist is responsible for daily handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures the accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, and distribution of incoming materials, as well as the proper packaging, labeling, and shipping of finished goods to customers and/or vendors.
HS Diploma or equivalent (some college preferred). 2 years related experience in a shipping and/or receiving function. Must be organized and detail oriented. Proficient computer skills, specifically with MS excel spreadsheets Proficient ability to use on-line shipping software for major carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL) Prior experience using ERP software, SAP preferred. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Must possess "soft skills": personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, team building, and influencing skills. Competence in dealing with people effectively and politely. Physically transfer received goods to production area lifting 2lb boxes on a regular basis. Ability to lift 40lb to shoulder height or the top of a bench on occasion. U.S. Citizen or Qualified U.S. Worker
