Fives DyAG Corp is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator in the Saginaw, MI area.  This is a first shift role.
Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all inbound and outbound logistics activities for a specialty equipment manufacturing operation. This role ensures accurate, timely receipt of materials and efficient shipment of finished equipment while supporting inventory accuracy, production schedules, and customer delivery commitments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and experienced working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
Shipping Operations
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments of finished specialty equipment and components.
  • Prepare shipping documentation including BOLs, packing lists, invoices, and export paperwork as required.
  • Schedule freight pickups with carriers, LTL/FTL providers, and specialized transportation vendors.
  • Ensure proper packaging, crating, and labeling to protect high-value or custom-built equipment.
  • Verify shipments against work orders and customer requirements prior to departure.
Receiving Operations
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, components, and equipment against purchase orders.
  • Document discrepancies, damage, or shortages and communicate issues to Purchasing and Quality.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and staged for production use.
  • Coordinate incoming deliveries to align with production and space constraints.
Inventory & Systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions in the ERP or inventory management system.
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Track shipping and receiving metrics (on-time delivery, freight costs, inaccuracies, etc.).
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to align shipments with build schedules and customer expectations.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, and issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics, packaging, and material flow.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures related to forklift use, material handling, and shipping/receiving activities.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, export control, and hazardous material regulations as applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready shipping and receiving area.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience shipping oversized, heavy, or specialty equipment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and shipping software.
  • Working knowledge of freight methods (LTL, FTL, parcel, expedited) as well as DOT regulations relating to shipping/transportation.
  • Experience coordinating hazardous materials shipments is helpful.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Experience with international shipping and export documentation.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing or warehouse best practices.
  • Ability to read work orders, drawings, or basic technical documentation.
